All candidates must have five (5) O' Level credits in relevant subjects including English and Mathematics.
Postgraduate Diploma
A candidate must possess a qualification adjudged equivalent to a first degree (at least 3rd Class Degree or higher) or a Higher National Diploma (at least Lower Credit) or its equivalent (provided the university matriculation requirement is satisfied). Relevant post-qualification experience may be prescribed. OND plus a professional qualification and HD are not equivalent to HND.
Master's Degree (Academic)
A candidate must hold one of the following:
- A minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) Degree with CGPA not below 2.75 on a 0.00–5.00 scale of SLUK or any other recognised University, in the relevant area.
- A Second Class (Lower Division) with CGPA of 2.40–2.74 plus a Postgraduate Diploma with minimum CGPA of 3.00 (Merit).
- A Postgraduate Diploma with minimum CGPA of 3.50 and an HND with Upper Credit from a recognised institution.
- Any other qualification deemed equivalent by the Board of SPGS and Senate.
PhD Degree
A candidate must hold an academic Master's degree of SLUK or any other recognised University and satisfy the Master's admission conditions. The CGPA of the Master's programme should be at least 3.50 on a 0.00–5.00 scale.
Applicants who meet other requirements but have Master's CGPA of at least 3.00 may be considered for MPhil/PhD. PhD applicants submit a preliminary research proposal with the application.
